Engineer - Fire Engineering

Overview

As a fire engineer, you’ll typically be working on a variety of projects at once—from international projects to high‑rise towers—aiming to enable innovative architectural design without compromising fire safety.

• Review design information, liaise with other WSP disciplines (Facades, Acoustics, Structures), present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and advise the design team on changes to increase building safety.
• Learn and work with a range of software packages and fire standards; participate in team briefings and client updates from the start, and engage in regular social and collaborative activities.
• Support the successful candidate’s professional registration toward IFE and other professional bodies.
• Take part in a bespoke development programme to build professional skills and technical expertise, including training in technical report writing, project management, communications, commercial concepts, team challenges, and continuous improvement.

• BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with in the fire engineering consulting industry.
• This role can be based from any of our UK major offices.
