Role OverviewThe Arboriculture and Forestry team works across a variety of public and private projects within the UK. You will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously, providing proactive support to senior consultants and collaborating with in‑house specialists.
Your New Role, What’s Involved?- Provide support to the Principal and Senior Consultant.
- Conduct site‑based surveys, assessments, measurements, inspections and monitoring in accordance with BS5837:2012 and tree‑hazard assessment guidelines.
- Collate and interpret arboricultural information from desk studies.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, arboricultural impact assessments and method statements.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop mitigation solutions.
- Analyze data and manage project deliverables.
- Support senior and junior team members.
- Work on NSIP / DCO projects, preparing technical reports and feasibility studies, and contributing to arboricultural impact assessments and method statements.
- Manage tight deadlines, meet agreed standards and deliver high‑quality work.
- Prepare project pricing for small sites.
- Participate in recruitment efforts when requested.
- Mentor junior team members, encouraging their career development.
- Enthusiasm for arboriculture and willingness to learn.
- Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in arboriculture or a related field.
- Professional Tree Inspector (PTI) certificate.
- Experience as an arboriculture consultant, local authority tree officer, or similar role.
- Experience in conducting arboriculture surveys using digital data‑capture devices.
- Experience producing high‑quality technical arboriculture reports for planning applications.
- Ability to work within a pragmatic team of arboricultural, landscape and environmental professionals.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and arboricultural survey methodologies.
- Flexibility to travel and work away from home within the UK regularly.
- Desire to develop core arboriculture and consultancy skills.
- Positive health and safety approach, understanding workplace safety requirements.
- Professional conduct at all times.
