Overview

As part of the infrastructure planning team, you will contribute to landmark projects for clients such as National Grid, National Gas, EET Fuels, Eni UK and many others, helping to secure consent and approvals for nationally significant developments.

Responsibilities
  • Managing or leading aspects of town planning or consenting input on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs, etc.)
  • Providing technical advice to clients and managing their consenting requirements, demonstrating awareness of client expectations and needs.
  • Co‑ordinating the preparation and submission of consent applications under the Town and Country Planning Acts, the Planning Act 2008 or other relevant regimes.
  • Supporting negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.
  • Leading engagement with multidisciplinary teams and providing technical oversight.
  • Actively supporting and contributing to achievement, building positive relationships within project and discipline teams.
  • Proactively developing own knowledge and skills to build ability and the team’s internal knowledge base.
  • Solid understanding of project finances and project management experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
  • Line‑management and mentoring of colleagues in their work‑delivery roles.
  • Working within multi‑disciplinary teams to secure consent and approvals for major or nationally significant infrastructure projects via the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Planning Act 2008 and Transport and Works Act Order, and where applicable the Planning (Wales) Act 2015, Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act, or the Electricity Act.
Qualifications
  • Degree‑level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
  • Member of the RTPI.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering consenting and planning approvals for large infrastructure projects.
