Academics are working with a thriving and well led primary school in Waltham Forest, London who are looking for an Assistant SENCO to join them in September 2026 to complete their NASENCO training and offer an experienced primary teacher the opportunity to train as a SENCo and obtain experience from a leading school in the borough!

This is a full time and permanent position!

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the SENCo to coordinate SEND across EYFS, KS1 & KS2.
  • Identify pupils requiring additional support and assist with the implementation and reviews of support plans, contribute to the EHCP process and annual reviews.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and support staff to promote inclusive classroom practice and ensure pupils with SEND are supported academically, physically and emotionally.
  • Support the development of SEND provision within the school and assist with monitoring and evaluation of impact.
  • There will be elements of teaching involved; openness to meeting EYFS, KS1 or KS2 teachers.
Requirements
  • You must hold QTS to be considered for this role and have recent UK national curriculum experience.
  • Open to experienced primary teachers with a passion for SEN and aims to become a qualified SENCO.
  • Ability to start in September 2026 and participate in NASENCO qualification training.
