Specialist learning support assistant - Alternative provision

Overview

We are currently working with an Alternative Provision in Chesterfield looking for a Specialist Learning Support Assistant on a temp‑to‑permanent, full‑time basis.

In this AP, all pupils are permanently excluded and may exhibit challenging behaviours. Pupils may also have SEND.

The main purpose of the role is to provide academic support and intervention to pupils who are disaffected and/or have behavioural, emotional, social and learning difficulties, and enable them to develop positive relationships with others. The role supports the delivery of the curriculum to ensure pupils realise their full potential socially and academically.

• Support the delivery of a phonics programme and a wide range of literacy interventions.

• Work with pupils who display challenging behaviours and SEND.

• Provide academic support and intervention to enable pupils to develop positive relationships with others.

• Assist in delivering the curriculum and ensuring pupils realise their full potential.

• Experience supporting the delivery of a phonics programme or other literacy interventions.

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to obtain business insurance (or already have it).

• Updated DBS via the update service (we can support obtaining one if you do not have it).

• Availability to work full time, 8:30‑16:20.
