The Role

We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients and are currently seeking Lecturers in Psychology to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of a BSc (Hons) Psychology programme delivered in partnership with Bath Spa University.

Due to the delivery model, flexibility is required to teach during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and deliver teaching sessions in line with Faculty requirements.
  • Design assessments and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
  • Provide timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to students.
  • Provide academic support and guidance throughout the student lifecycle.
  • Develop, update, and continuously improve course and module materials.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice in learning and teaching, embedding appropriate technologies to enhance the student learning experience.
  • Contribute to the design, development, delivery, review, and enhancement of programmes of study within the Faculty.
  • Attend meetings as required to support academic delivery and governance.
  • Develop productive working relationships with colleagues and external academic partners.
  • Participate in internal and external events, including programme reviews, open days, outreach activities, and partner visits.
  • Undertake a reflective programme of professional development, including teaching observations, workshops, and experiential learning.
  • Support and engage in the creation, application, and dissemination of knowledge within Psychology and/or higher education practice.
  • Engage with the performance management framework, meeting clearly defined objectives relating to student attendance, continuation, completion, progression, and satisfaction.
  • Act as a Module Leader or undertake other academic, administrative, or management responsibilities appropriate to the level of appointment, as directed by senior academic leadership.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support academic delivery and professional development.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification in Psychology and/or a demonstrable track record in research or scholarly activity related to Psychology.
  • Experience of teaching within UK higher education.
  • Experience of supporting learners in both face-to-face and remote learning environments.
  • Experience supervising student work and providing academic guidance and feedback.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable professionalism in all interactions with staff and students.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accurate reporting.
  • Ability to maintain thorough and well‑organised student records.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent IT skills, including competence with Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student cohorts.
  • A strong commitment to education as a transformative and inclusive activity, including experience or interest in widening participation environments.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Doctoral-level qualification in Psychology or equivalent professional standing.
  • Industry experience relevant to the field of Psychology.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCHE, MA in Higher Education Practice, or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
