Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs? This is an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge of behaviour, development, and mental health in a rewarding school setting.
Milk Education is working with supportive primary schools across Leeds who are seeking passionate and resilient graduates to work as SEN Teaching Assistants
, supporting pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech & language difficulties
.
This role is ideal if you’re considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Counselling, or Youth Work
.
- Monday–Friday, 08:30–15:30
- Full‑time roles available
- Short‑term, long‑term, and permanent opportunities
- Competitive daily pay (paid weekly)
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
- Support children with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour positively
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging in lessons
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Promote inclusion, independence, and emotional regulation
- A Psychology degree (2:2 or above)
- A genuine interest in supporting children with SEN
- Resilience, patience, and a proactive attitude
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Experience with young people (volunteering, tutoring, care, coaching, etc.) is beneficial but not essential
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Gain direct experience working with children with additional needs
- Develop behaviour management and intervention skills
- Strengthen applications for Educational Psychology or teacher training
- Receive ongoing support and CPD opportunities
- Make a real difference in a child’s educational journey
