Lecturer​/Senior Lecturer in Law

Overview

We are looking for lawyers to join our team as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in our Law Academic Team based at our Leeds Campus. This role operates on a 5-over-7-day working pattern, which may include evenings and weekends to support our flexible delivery model. Reporting into our Academic Management Team, you will be providing tuition across The University of Law course portfolio including the BPC, SQE, Law Conversion Programmes (PGDL and MAL), LLM in Legal Practice, LLB, Professional Skills Course/Professional Development, Academic Masters courses and/or other University courses to the best possible standard.

In addition to teaching and assessing on our programmes, we also provide opportunities to deliver our Professional Development courses to practitioners, design and assess on our CILeX programme and, as the sole assessor of the Higher Rights qualification, you will be involved in Higher Rights assessment design and assessing candidates. Following completion of your probation we will enrol you on our PGCHE (Postgraduate Certificate of Higher Education) and support you to obtain this qualification and FHEA (Fellow of the Higher Education Academy). We also offer the opportunity to obtain your Higher Rights of audience, if you are a solicitor without Higher Rights teaching on the BPC. In addition, suitable candidates can help shape and strengthen our research culture, with research time release to pursue scholarship and publish work on issues of importance to both the legal community and academia.
