The Role

This is a rare opportunity for a dedicated Teacher of IT and Computing to join a high-achieving department on a part-time basis
. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 delivery for the right applicant. Starting ASAP
, the role requires an educator who is as comfortable explaining the intricacies of Python as they are discussing the ethical implications of AI. The position is designed for someone who can hit the ground running, bringing a blend of technical expertise and pedagogical creativity to the classroom.

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Computing.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in programming languages (specifically Python
    ).
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and networking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to differentiate learning materials for diverse student needs.
  • Data analysis skills to track and improve student performance.
  • Creative problem-solving for technical and pedagogical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality IT and Computing lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and digital literacy.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in the National Curriculum and GCSE/A-Level specifications.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of schemes of work.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their technical skills.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods, including practical demonstrations and project-based learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to the Computing curriculum.
  • Support the school's wider ethos and participate in school events where necessary.
