SEN Teaching Assistant
Immediate or November Start
Qualiteach Yorkshire are looking to appoint caring, motivated and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to join a highly supportive special school in Leeds.
The school caters for children and young people with a wide range of needs including SEN, Autism, complex learning needs, physical and medical conditions, and social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Pupils are aged from 2 to 19 years, and you’ll work as part of a passionate, skilled team committed to helping every learner achieve their full potential.

The Role:
* Support pupils with additional needs and disabilities, ensuring safety, engagement and access to learning.
* Work closely with the class teacher to deliver lessons and interventions aligned to pupils’ EHCPs and individual learning targets.
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to promote communication, independence and emotional regulation.
* Assist with behaviour management using Team Teach de-escalation strategies (training provided).
* Support pupils with personal care, feeding, mobility and medical interventions as required (training provided).
* Contribute to assessment and progress records, feeding back on development and achievement.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
* Promote cooperation, confidence, and self-esteem among pupils.
What you will need:
* A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
* Patience, empathy and the ability to build positive relationships.
* Flexibility and resilience – no two days are ever the same!
* Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
* Willingness to undertake training (e.g. Safeguarding, Moving & Handling, Team Teach, Medical Interventions).
* Experience working with SEN pupils or transferable care/support experience is desirable.
