Overview

Hillcrest Academy is seeking an inspirational colleague for the role of Assistant Principal. The successful candidate will support the Academy’s Development Plan and have a desire to make a real difference to the lives and chances of our children. The role requires a passion for inspirational leadership to staff and young people in a disadvantaged community. An interest or experience of working in Early Years or as a SENCo would be preferable;

we welcome applications from candidates who want to make a difference to vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Academy’s Development Plan and deliver inspirational leadership to staff and students in a disadvantaged community.
  • Set high expectations, challenge under‑achievement and retain positive, encouraging relationships with staff, students and parents.
  • Engage effectively with parents and carers in learning and promote a positive school culture.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Successful record of teaching with strong examination results at KS1 or KS2 (applicants must have gained Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • Positive and optimistic approach to working with young people.
  • Evidence of impact in improving student outcomes at subject or whole school level.
  • Good focus on standards to raise achievements.
