Job Title: SEND Support Worker (Part Time, Reduced Year) Salary: Commencing at £25,556 with progression to £26,200 per annum pro rataClosing Date: About the Role

Leeds City College are seeking a SEND Support Worker to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. The post holder will work closely with all staff in a wide-ranging role designed to help our learners’ progress during practical and theory lessons.

This role will be predominantly be based at Temple Newsam but on occasion their might be the requirement to also work at other campuses such as Printworks or the University Centre. This role includes supporting both practical and theory lessons with the department based in a working farm and historical estate, so the successful candidate should like animals and be comfortable in a land-based real work environment.

The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a wide range of study programmes, apprenticeships and Higher Education (HE). This role will be working with Further Education (FE) students.

Please note, this is a reduced year, part-time role. The pro rata'd salary is £17,453 - £17,893. You will be required to work 4 days a week, 9am - 4:30pm.

What You Will Do
  • Work closely with our staff to support individual students or groups of students who hold EHCPs
  • Support individual students or groups of students with targeted support and interventions where required.
  • Collaborate with members of the team to develop learning strategies for students.
  • Work with other members of the team to ensure successful outcomes for High Needs and SEND students.
  • About You

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Experience of working with learners with an EHCP in an educational setting
    • Experience of working within a team who support students with an EHCP.
    • Experience of dealing with a range of SEND needs, and understanding of support strategies.
    • Experience of working with schools, parents and external support agencies.
