Do you cherish that specific "lightbulb moment" when a child reads a sentence for the very first time?

Are you skilled at bridging the gap between play-based learning and the structured classroom environment?

Do you want to focus on the joy of teaching without the pressure of data targets and endless evening marking?

If you answered "yes," Randstad Education needs you. We are the market-leading education agency in Leeds, and we are currently seeing a surge in demand for specialist Key Stage 1 Teachers (Year 1 and Year
2) to support our partner schools.

We are looking for enthusiastic teachers who can deliver engaging Phonics sessions and structured literacy lessons, ensuring children in Leeds get the best possible start to their formal education.

About the Role:

As a Supply KS1 Teacher, you will be a vital resource for schools, covering short-term sickness or course cover. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across Year 1 and Year 2.
  • Leading high energy Phonics sessions (confidence with schemes like Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or Letters and Sounds is highly desirable).
  • Supporting pupils through the transition from EYFS or preparing Year 2s for SATs in a low-stress manner.
  • Managing classroom behaviour positively and effectively.
  • Marking work at the end of the day to ensure the class teacher returns to a tidy handover.
What we are looking for:
  • Qualification: UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience: Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1 is essential.
  • Adaptability: The ability to fit into different school teams quickly and follow school policies.
  • Compliance: An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Why work with Randstad Education?

  • Fair Pay: Competitive daily rates paid weekly via PAYE (no hidden umbrella fees).
  • Local Knowledge: A dedicated Leeds-based consultant who knows the schools you will be working in.
  • Refer a Friend: Earn £300 in shopping vouchers for every teacher you successfully recommend to us!
