About the Role
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an outstanding English teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Leeds starting this January. The successful candidate will be a vital part of a supportive and innovative English department, responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. There may also be opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.
The role is centred on creating a stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to develop a lifelong appreciation for reading, writing, and communication.

Requirements:- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum for English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one).
- Exceptional subject knowledge of English Language and Literature.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective engagement with students, parents, and staff.
- Creativity and innovation in lesson planning and delivery.
- The ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Analytical skills to effectively use data for tracking and informing student progress.
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach to working with colleagues.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Set and mark student work, providing timely, constructive, and effective feedback.
- Monitor, track, and report on student progress, using data to inform future planning.
- Contribute to the development and moderation of the English curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and well-being.
- Promote literacy across the curriculum and a love of reading throughout the school.
- Uphold and promote the school s values and safeguarding policies.
- Participate in departmental meetings and whole-school training events.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages mutual respect and participation.
- Undertake pastoral responsibilities as required, supporting the well-being of students.
