The Role: We are recruiting lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance programme. Our delivery model requires flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and weekends. Your expertise can ignite a passion for learning.
What you’ll be doing- Plan, deliver and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
- Develop, update and improve course materials as appropriate.
- Use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials.
- Actively engage in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties.
- Stay up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.
- Work toward clear objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression.
- Hold a Master’s degree in an accounting and finance field obtained in the UK or equivalent (full membership of PSRB’s; PhD desirable).
- Have previous UK HE lecturing experience delivering core accounting modules such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation, Audit or similar subjects.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
- Have experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
- Be skilled at accurate reporting and maintaining thorough, organised student records.
- Work under pressure, planning and prioritising workload to meet tight deadlines.
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills.
- Be able to work with diverse groups of people.
- Hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commit to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or an international equivalent).
- Be fully qualified from PSRB’s affiliates or active members such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW and/or IFA.
- 25 days annual leave, plus eight public holidays.
