The RoleWe are seeking lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance programme. Due to our delivery model, flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and weekends is required. Your expertise can ignite a passion for learning.
What you'll be doingAs a Lecturer, you will engage in learning, teaching and assessment of students, keeping up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices. You should have experience delivering core accounting modules such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation, Audit or similar subjects.
Responsibilities- All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring learning outcomes are met.
- Developing, updating, and improving course materials.
- Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials.
- Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties.
- Understanding and keeping up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.
- Working towards a range of clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression.
- Hold a Master's degree in Accounting/Finance obtained in the UK or equivalent;
PhD desirable. - Have previous UK HE lecturing experience delivering core accounting modules such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation, Audit or similar subjects.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
- Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
- Accurate reporting and maintaining thorough and organised student records.
- Work under pressure, plan and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Hold a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or commitment to enrol during the probationary period and complete within three years, or Fellowship of HEA or equivalent.
- Fully qualified from PSRB's affiliates (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, IFA) or at least active members.
- 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays.
