Job Summary
Foundry Lane Surgery based in East Leeds, run by Drs Bruno Rushforth, Cathryn Cooper & Rob Eastham, is recruiting a salaried GP to cover maternity leave. The role initially lasts 6 months and may extend.
Work schedule:
6 sessions per week – Monday, Thursday & Friday 8:30 am – 6 pm. The position starts in April 2026.

- 7,680 registered patients
- 6 GP team, 4 registrars & FY2
- CQC "Good" across all domains and all patient groups
- Experienced practice nurse team (2 nurses and 2 HCAs)
- Supportive management, admin and reception teams
- Support from PCN staff including clinical pharmacy team / remote pharmacists offering daily appointment slots
- 6 weeks annual leave plus one week study leave per year
- No duty doctor session
- Very low home visit practice (young demographic)
- Meet daily for lunch for peer support
- All 3 partners started as salaried GPs

Working pattern:
Part‑time, 6 sessions per week (Mon, Thu & Fri 8:30 am – 6 pm)
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with contracts. The post‑holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, and maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Experienced candidates or those embarking on their GP career post‑CCT will be welcome.
- Recent experience of working in general practice in the UK.
- Understanding of the needs of the vulnerable groups of patients registered and of the health and social needs of a local practice patient population.
- Commitment to and experience of working as part of a multi‑disciplinary and skill‑mixed team environment.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
- Excellent patient manner and imaginative approach to problem solving and provision of services.
- Experience of working to achieve standards within the Quality & Outcome Framework (QOF).
- Medical practitioner name included in the General Practitioner Register.
- Understanding of the current issues and challenges facing primary care.
- Commitment to personal and professional development and education and training.
- DBS clearance.
- Excellent time management.
Desirable
- Evidence of CPD activities.
- Evidence of independent working in General Practice.
- Evidence of participation in QOF.
- Experience or an interest in clinical teaching / supervision.
