Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Dermatologist on a 10 PA contract for a fixed period of 6 months.

Therole will be based primarily at Chapel Allerton Hospital, although the successful applicant may be required to work across other Trust sites as partof service delivery. Applicants must hold Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or equivalent and be on the GMC Specialist Register or bewithin six months of admission to the Specialist Register. Trainees currently in a UK training programme may also be considered, subject to appropriatereferences authorised by the Deputy Medical Director or Clinical Director.

The successful candidate will demonstrate established clinical skills in Dermatology, along with excellent communication and team-working abilities. Acommitment to teaching, training, and service development is essential.

The successful applicant will provide consultant-level care across general adultdermatology, paediatric dermatology, community dermatology, and skin cancer services, including the assessment and management of melanoma.

Specifically,the post holder will:

Enhance the current provision of rapid-access diagnostic skin cancer clinics,supporting the Trust to meet agreed activity levels and national accesstargets.

Support and enhance the provision of general dermatology clinics, including the management of complex inflammatory and chronic skin conditions.

Contribute to the delivery of paediatric dermatology services, as required by serviceneed.

Support the ongoing development of community-led dermatology services, including therefinement of patient pathways and integration with primary care.

Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health professional colleagues across sites within the Trust.

Contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of junior medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Participate in service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement activities within the Dermatology Department.

OBJECTIVESOF THE POST

Additional Requirements
  • Understanding of current issues in the NHS.
Qualifications
  • MB BS (or equivalent)
  • Higher degree e.g. MD/PhD relevant to the subspecialty.
Experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in Dermatology, along with excellent communication and team-working abilities
Eligibility, Fitness to practice, and Language Skills
  • Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
