Job Description

Are you a creative designer with a passion for producing engaging multimedia content across digital and print platforms?

We’re looking for a Creative Designer to join the creative team within the Communications and Marketing service at Leeds Beckett University. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of creative campaigns that support student recruitment, showcase research and strengthen the university’s profile and reputation.

In this role, you will help bring the university’s brand to life across a broad mix of communication channels. Working closely with colleagues across academic schools and professional services, you will design and deliver high-quality creative content for use across web, social media, digital campaigns, print and other platforms. Your work will help communicate the distinctive identity of Leeds Beckett while also supporting the individual character of our academic areas.

You will contribute to the development and delivery of creative concepts across multi-channel marketing campaigns, producing a variety of outputs including graphics, animations, illustrations, web layouts, video, photography, digital assets and print materials. From initial ideas through to final production, you will support projects across the full creative process, ensuring that content is engaging, accessible and aligned with audience needs.

As part of the creative team, you will play an important role in maintaining and developing the university’s brand identity. Acting as a brand ambassador, you will ensure that design work reflects brand guidelines while helping to evolve and improve creative standards. You will bring fresh ideas and inspiration from wider design and digital trends, helping to keep our creative output distinctive, innovative and effective.

This is a hands‑on role in a busy and collaborative environment, requiring strong organisational skills and attention to detail. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high‑quality standards while meeting deadlines. You will also ensure accurate file management and quality control across all work produced.

We’re looking for someone with strong experience of working in a creative design environment and excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects. You will have experience producing creative outputs for multi‑channel campaigns, including graphics, animation, digital advertising, web content and print.

Some knowledge of Figma is helpful, as the role involves designing web layouts for developers, and familiarity with templating tools such as Canva is a bonus for day‑to‑day content production. An awareness of AI and its growing role in the modern design workplace is important, as is a genuine interest in creative problem solving and a willingness to keep learning, develop your skills and support the wider team.

At Leeds Beckett, we value diverse perspectives and offer generous annual leave and strong support for professional development. Join a creative and supportive team delivering impactful design and multimedia content that helps tell the story of our university.

Closing date Sunday 22nd March 2026 (2359)

Working here means you’ll have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.

We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under‑represented at this level of post. All appointments will be based on merit.
