Position: Site Manager / Project Manager (New Build Construction)
Location: Richmond Hill

We are recruiting an experienced No1 Site Manager / Project Manager for a well-known construction main contractor who work on new build construction, refurbishment, and fit-out projects across the UK. This vacancy is for the company’s construction division which tends to work on projects between £3-15 million in value. Projects are new build construction schemes in the industrial, MOD and sectors.

Projects tend to be in the north with a focus on Yorkshire, the Northwest and North Mids. The Site Manager can travel to projects daily or lodge away on schemes that may be further from home. Applicants must be willing to lodge away on projects when required.

Main responsibilities:

* Coordinating and clearly directing both directly employed site staff and subcontractors.

* Planning and programming all site activities and coordinating labour.

* Working closely with the visiting Contracts Manager to ensure work is progressing according to the programme with effective cost control.

* Promptly dealing with any issues and planning corrective actions.

* Proving regular updates, attending and leading progress meetings and subcontractor meetings.

* Maintaining the Group’s high quality and safety standards, working closely with our in-house Health, Safety and Environmental Team.

Requirements:

* 5+ years’ experience as a Site Manager or Project Manager

* Previous experience working for main contractors on new build projects

* You must be able to plan all aspects of construction operations and produce construction programmes. Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and strong commercial awareness are required.

* Strong interpersonal, leadership and people management skills are essential. You must be friendly and professional at all times when directly dealing with colleagues, contractors, clients, professionals and all others within the supply chain.

* An academic qualification (HNC, HND, Degree in a construction-related subject) would be an advantage.

* We are ideally seeking a candidate with in-date qualifications and training such as SMSTS, First Aid, Black Managers CSCS card, asbestos awareness, working at height, scaffold inspection.

* You must be willing to work on projects throughout the north including Yorkshire, the northwest, northeast and north midlands.

* A full driving licence is essential
