The OpportunityAn established regional civil engineering contractor based in Leeds is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis.
The RoleAs Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with project managers and site teams, ensuring strong cost control and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

A Quantity Surveyor ready to step into more responsibility. An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking a stable regional contractor.
Responsibilities- Full commercial management of civil engineering projects
- Cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control
- Valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Subcontractor procurement, management, and payments
- Managing variations, change control, and commercial risk
- Contract administration (NEC experience preferred)
- Supporting project delivery teams on commercial matters
- Mentoring junior staff (Senior QS level)
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Experience working for a civil engineering contractor
- Background in highways, infrastructure, utilities, groundworks, or general civils
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- NEC contract experience advantageous
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Full UK driving licence
