We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial department, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire. About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support Commercial best practice to maximise value and minimise risk and cost for both Lanes Group Ltd and our customers. Responsibilities include accurately valuing works, providing records to substantiate cost, managing change control in Main and Subcontract, and managing client relationships at contract level.

• Review Commercial processes to ensure they stay relevant and recommend changes.
• Communicate contractual terms to relevant parties and ensure understanding of project/contract terms.
• Work efficiently under tight deadlines and stress factors.
• Ensure maximum recovery of all contractual entitlements.
• Use performance data to identify opportunities and implement processes to realise entitlements and opportunities.
• Support Operational team in daily commercial and contractual aspects.
• Ensure proper contractual administration of assigned contracts/projects, including value/cost control and contemporaneous records.
• Accurately value works undertaken and provide records to substantiate costs for prompt payment/invoicing within contractual timescales.
• Manage change control, including production of Early Warnings/Variations to maximise entitlement.
• Prepare financial statements for projects/contracts, working with operations to understand financial position and promote commercial awareness.
• Support development of individuals within the commercial team.
• Accept extra duties as situations arise.
• Manage Subcontract Accounts.
• Able to travel and spend occasional nights away.

• HNC in Quantity Surveying or similar
• Undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or similar advantageous
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in utilities or civils desirable
• Experience in QS role
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Strong knowledge of contracts
• Strong relationship management while protecting contractual entitlement
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
