Overview:

Leeds Women's Aid (LWA) is the largest women's charitable organisation in Leeds, providing services for victims of domestic violence and abuse and more. As part of the Children & Young People's service, you will deliver one‑to‑one interventions in schools, assess needs, advocate for children, and work with families and partner agencies to ensure safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual interventions to children and young people affected by domestic and sexual violence and abuse.
  • Assess needs and advocate on behalf of children.
  • Collaborate with families and partner agencies to support safety and wellbeing.
  • Deliver services in accordance with LWA’s safeguarding and welfare policies.
Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Professional Children and/or Young People’s qualification (e.g., Social Care Degree, NVQ Level 3, NNEB or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of domestic violence and abuse, sexual violence and understanding of the impacts on survivor‑victims.
  • Experience supporting children & young people, particularly those experiencing or recovering from trauma.
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure required before starting.
