Position: Registered Manager (Ofsted) Residential Children's Care

Registered Manager (3 Bed EBD Home)

Reports to:

Service Manager.

Work Location:

Oswestry SY11.

Hours:

40 hours per week Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm plus on‑call rota. Salary Range: £52,650.00 to £61,650.00 (depending on experience, qualifications, & earned bonuses).

Your Role – Job description
  • Lead the overall management and performance of the residential home in line with the Statement of Purpose and Ofsted/CIW regulations.
  • Provide effective leadership, support and supervision to the team.
  • Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with legal frameworks.
  • Ensure children’s care plans meet their emotional, educational, social, and therapeutic needs.
  • Conduct audits, internal quality checks, and prepare for Regulation 44 and Ofsted/CIW inspections.
  • Manage rotas, staffing levels, handovers, and resource planning.
  • Contribute to budget management and operational decision‑making.
  • Promote positive outcomes through trauma‑informed, inclusive, and therapeutic approaches.
What we are looking for

Essential

  • 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within residential childcare.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of child development, trauma, and therapeutic care approaches.
  • In‑depth knowledge of safeguarding, care standards, and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff teams.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, delegate, and manage a dynamic workload.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to complete Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification.

Desirable

  • Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management.
  • Experience with therapeutic frameworks or therapeutic qualifications.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and budgeting experience.
  • Positive regulatory inspection outcomes.

Experience & Eligibility
  • Management/Supervisory – Children’s Residential Care Setting: 2 years (required).
  • Driving Licence UK (required).
  • Level 3 in Children and Young People Residential Care (required).
  • Work Authorisation – United Kingdom (required).
Job Type & Pay

Full‑time. Pay: £52,650.00–£61,650.00 per year.
