A quick look at the role.
To manage and be responsible for the business relationship between a Biffa Region and the client, covering commercial results, growth/development, contract negotiations, meeting the relevant KPI's and SLA's, compliance, customer satisfaction and retention, the development of strategic account plans, innovative solutions and ensure consistent and high quality service.
Your core responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, accountable for delivering strategic account plans, service performance, contract compliance, customer retention, and agreed pricing negotiations.
- Lead customer review meetings, providing accurate management information and professional advice on waste management solutions and service optimisation.
- Develop and maintain strong, multi-level customer relationships to build trust, continuity, and long-term partnership.
- Serve as the escalation point for customer issues, coordinating internal teams to achieve timely and effective resolution.
- Manage account financial performance by ensuring customer debt remains within contractual terms and resolving invoice queries promptly.
- Negotiate, influence, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally, to deliver sustainable, mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Identify and convert upsell and cross-sell opportunities by introducing relevant Biffa products and services that add value to managed accounts.
Our essential requirements
- Demonstrated responsibility for driving sustainable growth within a regional or strategic account environment.
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy while aligning activity to the wider Regional and long-term business plan.
- Strong commercial focus, with experience analysing, forecasting, and evaluating the viability and success of new and additional business opportunities.
- Sound understanding and practical application of commercial and financial principles, including cost management, profitability, market dynamics, and value creation.
- Proven capability in managing contract performance against agreed KPIs and performance metrics.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across all organisational levels, including Area Directors and the Commercial Senior Leadership Team, and to collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Fleet, Compliance, Finance, and HR.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external stakeholders at all levels to support account performance and growth.
