Role Overview

The Commercial and Tech Associate at Shoosmiths joins the top‑ranking Commercial Group. The role is an Associate level position requiring 3+ years’ PQE and offers the chance to advise on high‑quality, blue‑chip and exciting client matters in a supportive, positive environment.

• Undertake a wide variety of interesting and stimulating commercial and tech work, much of which is cutting edge involving advising clients on business‑critical strategic and/or novel projects.
• Develop client relationships from day 1, acting as a front‑and‑centre point for commercial objectives and technology initiatives.
• Participate in a secondment in‑house for one of our valued clients, gaining first‑class experience and exposure to a broad portfolio of work.
• Work across sectors including automotive, mobility, logistics, retail / FMCG, tech, and life sciences, supporting global brands and FTSE 100/250 corporates.

• Associate level with 3+ years’ post‑qualification experience in commercial and technology law.
• Commercially minded with strong negotiation skills and the ability to apply the law in real‑life business situations.
• Proactive and collaborative mindset, eager to contribute ideas and support personal career progression.
