RequirementsMission: Lead the accounting team to drive process improvements, ensure compliance and enhance profitability while maintaining client satisfaction through timely, accurate, high‑quality work.
Outcomes:
- Provide structured training and leadership to the accounting team, keeping them updated on accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drive process improvements to enable Sleek to scale efficiently.
- Demonstrate expertise in accounting regulations and UK company setups, especially for private limited companies.
- Ensure timely filing of corporate returns and taxes per SLAs.
- Support and improve gross profitability for Sleek UK.

To excel in this role, you must be:
- ACA/ICAEW/ACCA qualified with supplementary experience.
- Have a few years of experience in client and cloud accounting.
- Extensive knowledge of corporation tax compliance, VAT processes and regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software:
Quick Books, Xero, Excel etc. - Working in a fast‑growing start‑up with a large SME portfolio would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of payroll and personal tax would be advantageous.
- Based near or within commuting distance from our Leeds office; hybrid role, one or two days a week in‑office.
- Preparation and review of statutory annual accounts, reconciliations, external returns and claims for a large portfolio of SME clients.
- Build new relationships and maintain existing relationships with clients.
- Ensure financial records, systems and other internal controls, including standing orders, financial regulations and asset registers, are properly managed, maintained, controlled, reviewed and compliant.
- Effectively support junior accountants with their day‑to‑day challenges.

The process lasts no more than three weeks and may include video or in‑person interviews depending on your location.
- Screening call – ~30 minute chat with our Talent Acquisition team.
- Competency round – ~45–60 minute call with a Senior Accounting Manager.
- Country Head interview – ~45–60 minute call with our Country Head – UK.
- Executive interview – ~60 minute conversation with two business leaders.
- Offer & references – Non‑binding verbal or email offer, followed by short reference checks.
Background screening will cover education, criminal history, political exposure and bankruptcy or adverse credit history. Consent will be requested beforehand. Adverse results may affect probation.
