Position: Salesperson/Store Driver  Store 3758

This position is an entry‑level sales role supporting the DIY business and delivery of parts at Advance Auto Parts. The role is available on a part‑time or full‑time basis and requires fleet safety certification. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, knowledge of store systems, basic automotive and parts knowledge, and the ability to source parts from stores, hubs, and external suppliers.

Salesperson

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
  • Achieve personal sales goals and help the store reach its sales targets.
  • Deliver DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installation.
  • Maintain store product and operational standards.
  • Manage inventory processes, including truck put away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Ensure store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
  • General stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock.
  • Deliver parts safely to customers as needed.

Success Factors

  • Basic driving and navigation ability.
  • Proficiency with delivery board system.
  • Friendly communication.
  • Ability to locate and stock parts.
  • Knowledge of safety practices.
  • Skill operating inventory systems and store equipment.
  • Strong parts and automotive system knowledge.
  • Operating POS and parts‑lookup systems.
  • Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.

Essential Job Skills

  • Fluent English (Spanish a plus); build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
  • Use basic math accurately: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all measurement units.
  • Flexible to work various days, evenings, and weekends as required.

Prior Experience

  • 2‑3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
Store Driver

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
  • Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
  • Pick up returns and cores.
  • Drop off weekly or monthly sales flyers.
  • Daily collection of credit accounts.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Ensure store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
  • General stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock.

Success Factors

  • Basic driving and navigation ability.
  • Proficiency with delivery board system.
  • Friendly communication.
  • Ability to locate and stock parts.

Physical Demands

The employee will predominantly be walking or standing, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. The employee is required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work

Environment

The work environment is usually inside, but the employee will occasionally work outside and be exposed to varying weather conditions while performing tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades. The employee may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives; and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.
