Talent Manager, Employee Relations

We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Human Resources Director who will help strengthen our foundation by leading people-focused initiatives that attract, develop, and retain the best talent in the industry.
Job Title:
HR Director
The HR Director supports AMI’s people and culture initiatives by working directly with leadership and employees to create a positive, high-performance work environment. This role balances strategic HR support with hands-on daily HR activity. The HR Director will help drive recruitment and retention, support workforce development, and ensure compliance across all HR practices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead aggressive recruiting efforts across all divisions in a competitive construction labor market.
- Create retention strategies that address construction industry challenges (seasonal work, Saturday schedules, etc)
- Address employee concerns, conflicts, and workplace issues with fairness and speed
- Drive our employee-first culture through team building initiatives and recognition programs
- Manage all HR systems, policies, and employee handbook administration
- Ensure compliance with federal and Tennessee employment laws, OSHA regulations, and DOT requirements
- Handle workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS systems
- Manage benefits administration and open enrollment
- Support development of division-specific training including toolbox talks and certifications
- Ensure proper documentation of safety training and credentials
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- PHR/SPHR certification and/or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including management responsibility—construction or field-based industries preferred.
- Experience working within an Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
- Proven success recruiting and developing employees in skilled trades or construction environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a hands-on, approachable leadership style. (Being bilingual is a plus.)
