Job Summary

Responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating care for various patients within the facility. Reports directly to the Clinical Director of the unit. This position works in conjunction with other members of the nursing service, ancillary services, physicians, patients, and families, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure quality of care across the continuum. Requires self‑direction, quality focus, and interpersonal communication skills.

Hours

of Position

Full‑time (36 hours/week), nights (7 p‑7 a).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient’s care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient’s progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employ strategies to promote health and a safe, healthy environment.

Technical Capabilities (Novice)
  • Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation: sufficient proficiency to assess and evaluate patients in moderate difficulty situations; conduct primary care interviews and physical examinations; recognize problems and coordinate with the healthcare team.
  • Nursing Patient

    Education:

    basic proficiency in providing patient education in moderate difficulty contexts.
  • Care Planning: anticipate resource needs, prioritize tasks, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within direct responsibilities; handle multiple assignments simultaneously with minimal disruption.
  • Evidence-Based Practice: search for evidence to answer clinical questions and work under direction of others to complete assignments.
