Position summary and responsibilities for the Optical Manager role in the Vision Center, including leadership, customer service, inventory management, and community engagement.

• Drive sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, and in‑stock inventory levels, budgeting and forecasting, sales analyses, and assessment of economic trends and community needs.
• Model, enforce, and provide direction and guidance to associates on customer service approaches to ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved within Company guidelines and standards.
• Oversee implementation of and participation in community outreach programs and encourage associates to serve as good members of the community.
• Ensure compliance with Company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for the Vision Center by analyzing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring asset protection and safety controls, overseeing safety, operational and quality assurance reviews, developing and implementing action plans to improve performance, and directing associates in confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records.
• Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognizing achievements, and promoting a sense of belonging in the workplace.
• Ensure provision of quality eyewear by consulting with and educating members and customers, selecting products based on member and customer needs, obtaining measurements, verifying prescriptions, maintaining confidential information, performing minor frame repair, and maintaining optical equipment.
• Uphold the Company's Open Door Policy by meeting with associates, listening to concerns, researching issues, reviewing policies, and suggesting resolutions; coordinate and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, and establishing goals and measuring progress.
• Demonstrate adaptability, promote continuous learning, and drive improvements while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and supporting the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of 2 or more years of college OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience OR 2 years of general work experience including 1 year of optical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules.
