Perma-Pipe in Lebanon, TN is hiring Manufacturing Engineer/Drafter!
We’re seeking a dependable and motivated Manufacturing Engineer/Drafter to join our team in Lebanon, TN. The Manufacturing Engineer/Drafter will work with the engineering team in Lebanon to prepare and maintain accurate CAD drafting documents. Additionally, this position will be responsible for programming production equipment as well as auditing engineering estimates. Proper designing, and creation of CAD piping layouts and estimated bills of material as expected by Perma-Pipe.

Not a hybrid environment, expected to be in the office five days a week. US based position.
Essential Job Functions- Manufacturing/Project/Operational
- Ability to communicate with engineers, shop personnel and customers about a project in a manner where all parties understand the issues/tasks at hand (conference calls, email communication, etc.)
- Verify accurate engineering costs related to manufacturing details such as labor and burden rates.
- Prepare piping system layout drawings and component detail drawings
- Maintain a drafting environment and document management that complies with standards set up by the company (file integrity, operating CAD graphic interface, etc.)
- Ability to function with current Autodesk AutoCAD and COADE CADWorx programs and grasp new methods of 3D drafting that may enhance the CAD document (isometric layouts, detailed 3D views, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain schedules for multiple projects.
- Performs other duties/projects as assigned or as the job requires.
- Program production equipment (HGG and Plasma cutter).
- Routinely teach and if necessary, run the equipment if production workers are not present
- Creating bill of materials using Excel and Word documents.
- Creating shop labor estimates and cost
- Positive working relationship with shop personnel and foreman.
- Performs other duties/projects as assigned or as required by the position
- Education
- Minimum:
College level or equivalent of CAD instruction in AutoCAD products - Associates degree preferred
- Minimum:
- Background/Experience
- Solid understanding of 2D and 3D capabilities found in AutoCAD and other piping software such as CADWorx
- Previous Inside Sales or Estimating experience preferred but not required
- Demonstrate skills from previous experience in CAD environments where engineering documents were prepared for both manufacturing purposes and overall customer-based prints.
- Strong mathematical skills

- Must be proficient in MS office applications

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and company printer
- Occasionally positions self to maintain files in cabinet
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in situations
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
- Must handle diverse work problems daily
- Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure
- Must relate and interact with people at all levels in the Company.
