- Located about 20 miles East of the Nashville airport.

Realize that during any interaction with customers, the employee should remember the HERO (Helpful, Exceeds expectations, Represents us well, takes Ownership) program. Also, the customer is the highest priority of any employee of Wilson County Motors.

The Diesel Technician position wages are based on a flat rate program and determined on the level of experience of the successful candidate.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
  • Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and follow dealership procedures.
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of the time needed for other repairs.
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
  • Complete assigned training as directed by the supervisor, funded by the dealership.

Requirements
  • Responsibilities

REQUIRED

SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience working with diesel-operated vehicles
  • High school diploma or equivalent education/work experience
  • ASE Certification required
  • Diagnostic and Engine Repair experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to arrive to work on time.
PREFERRED

SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Light-duty diesel engine repair experience preferred
  • Graduates with diesel training from a technical school/institute are encouraged to apply
  • Basic understanding of work order labor time standards
  • Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, and excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills and essential computer competencies
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
  • Teammate with the ability to collaborate with others effectively
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications
