Senior UAT Tester

Location Designation:Hybrid - 3 days per week

New York Life’s Cross FX Enablement team within Field Experience Value Stream is establishing a UAT Center of Excellence to raise the bar on product quality and business readiness for our field-facing digital platforms. As a UAT Tester Senior Associate, you will translate business intent into executable, real-world test coverage, certify field workflows across integrated systems, and provide fact-based go/no-go input for release.

You’ll partner closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA/Engineering, and Production Support teams to ensure solutions work for our field users production, not just in the lab.

In addition to structured functional testing, you’ll help design and execute automated tests where appropriate, accelerating regressions and improving confidence across PI cycles. You represent our business users in test, contributing to acceptance criteria, business certification, and user acceptance sign-off for our major and on-going maintenance releases.

• Convert business objectives, personas, and acceptance intent (from BA/PO) into a UAT plan and scope aligned to releases and environments.
• Define end-to-end “must-pass” user journeys across systems, identify cross-product dependencies and data setup needs.
• Align entry/exit criteria and timelines with QA and release plans, contribute to business acceptance criteria and certification checkpoints.

• Author executable test cases/scripts grounded in real-world agent workflows, map coverage to epics/stories/requirements for traceability.
• Partner with QA/Data teams to source or synthesize production-like datasets (households, policies, tasks) to mirror field behavior.
• Build and maintain targeted automation for high-value regression paths; contribute to framework evolution.

• Execute planned tests plus exploratory/negative scenarios, document clear evidence.
• Log, triage, and retest defects, classify business impact/severity to aid prioritization and burn-down/burn-up tracking.
• Recreate production defects in test, identify coverage gaps, and validate fixes before release.

• Partner with BA/PO to clarify requirements, edge cases, and acceptance intent; ensure test design reflects business risk.
• Coordinate with QA/Engineering on environment issues and fix validation, contribute to real-world use cases that mirror field operations.
• Represent end users in triage, grounding decisions in business impact and readiness.

• Provide go/no-go inputs (pass rates, unresolved defects, risk, mitigations) and contribute to final business certification/user acceptance.

You bring business-savvy testing craft translating BA/PO intent into risk-based UAT plans, realistic test data, and executable scenarios across UAT/Alpha/Beta testing cycles then running disciplined execution, evidence capture, and clear go/no-go inputs. You’re a crisp collaborator and problem-solver triaging defects with business impact, partnering with QA/Engineering on repro and fixes, contributing to targeted regression automation, and feeding usability/workflow insights back into the backlog.

• 5+ years of software testing/UAT or technology support
• Strong knowledge of life insurance/financial management workflows
• Experience and working knowledge of building automated tests
• Proven collaborator across BA/PO/QA/Engineering, stilled at writing clear evidence and communicating risks/readiness for release.

• Demonstrated ability to identify, define and understand a problem, have knowledge of root cause analysis, and research effective solutions for the customer
• Strong analytical, written, verbal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with all levels within the organization.
