job summary:

a medical technician (med tech) will play an essential role in delivering compassionate care to residents within a community-based care setting
. This position involves providing direct care, administering medications, monitoring patient health, and supporting overall wellness. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, a compassionate approach, and a commitment to high-quality care.

responsibilities:
  • maintain patient confidentiality
  • foster a supportive, compassionate environment for our residents and their families
  • medication administration: prepare and administer medications to residents as prescribed, following all state and federal regulations, facility policies and procedures and maintaining accurate medication records.
  • report changes in residents' conditions to appropriate team members.
  • assistance with daily living: support residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring dignity and comfort.
  • care coordination: collaborate with nursing and other healthcare professionals to create and maintain individual care plans for each resident.
  • documentation: accurately document all care, medications, and any observed changes in residents’ conditions in accordance with company policies.
  • emergency response: act promptly and calmly in emergencies, following established protocols to ensure resident safety.
  • family communication: communicate with residents' families regarding health status, medication changes, and overall care updates, fostering trust and transparency.
  • compliance: maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies regarding healthcare and safety standards.
  • other duties as assigned
requirements:
  • high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • previous experience in healthcare setting, preferably in assisted living, long-term care or community based care.
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • good organizational and time-management skills.
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting clients with mobility.
  • must be able to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
  • ability to pass a background check.
  • experience: prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in assisted living, long-term care, or community-based care. (similar to above)
  • skills: strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • physical requirements: ability to lift and move residents as needed, as well as stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
