Overview
Store Manager role at O'Reilly Auto Parts. The Store Manager is responsible for the sales, profitability, appearance, and overall operations of the store with goals of consistent sales growth, maintaining the O’Reilly image, and operating as a profit center in accordance with policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Maximize sales by directing team members to provide customers with prompt, courteous, and professional service.
- Solicit orders, sell company products, and represent the company per company policies.
- Maintain customer base, increase sales at assigned accounts, review customer needs to gain market share, solicit stocking-type business and daily equipment sales.
- Coordinate sales call efforts with the Territory Sales Manager.
- Supervise all store team members and, with the District Manager, recruit, test, hire, evaluate, promote, discipline, and discharge team members under supervision.
- Develop and post work schedules using Scheduling & Timekeeping recommendations based on sales and payroll forecasting.
- Review team member timecards for accuracy and correct missed punches daily.
- Ensure ongoing skills development through company training on policies, procedures, customer service, computer operations, catalogs, sales, and safety.
- Work with Sales and Pricing Departments (with assistance of district manager) to establish pricing levels for professional customers.
- Maximize gross profit on outside purchases and monitor non-competitive price overrides and price matches to ensure policy compliance and profitability.
- Ensure store is organized and operating according to all company policies and procedures; communicate new information to team members as necessary.
- Implement all planogram changes and merchandising plans; provide stock adjustment recaps to the Inventory Control Department.
- Handle daily store accounting functions to support efficiency (sales reports, bank deposits, cash drawers, processing checks, etc.).
- Monitor charge accounts, address past-due situations, and communicate with Territory Sales Manager and credit department on status of problem accounts.
- Monitor loss prevention areas and implement procedures (billing, cash refunds, credit, stock transfers, core/warranty, key control/safe codes, and shoplifting prevention).
- Ensure store vehicles are clean and maintained; complete daily/monthly inspections.
- Report property/building needs to the Maintenance and Repair System (MARS) or District Manager.
- Attend the Annual Managers' Conference.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, Manager Development Program module
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
- Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE certification
