Lead Glazier
Whitaker Glass of Central Indiana is a growing commercial glazing, storefront, and entrance systems contractor serving Central Indiana. We take pride in quality workmanship, safety, and strong relationships with our customers and trade partners.
We are seeking an experienced Lead Glazier to run commercial glazing projects in the field, lead installation crews, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who knows the trade, takes ownership of the jobsite, and sets the tone for the crew.
📍 Central Indiana | Full‑Time
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise glazing crews on commercial job sites
- Serve as the primary on‑site point of contact for Whitaker Glass
- Assign daily tasks, manage productivity, and maintain jobsite organization
- Mentor and train apprentice and journeyman glaziers
- Install storefront systems, curtain wall, glass, doors, hardware, and related components
- Read and interpret shop drawings, architectural drawings, and specifications
- Ensure installations meet company standards, manufacturer requirements, and project specifications
- Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or quality
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements
- Conduct jobsite safety checks and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment
- Coordinate with project managers, field project managers, and other trades
- Communicate material needs, labor requirements, and field conditions
- Assist with punch lists, corrections, and closeout work
- 5+ years of commercial glazing experience
- Proven experience leading crews on commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of storefront, curtain wall, glass, doors, and hardware systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Solid understanding of jobsite safety and installation best practices
- Reliable, professional, and detail‑oriented
- Valid driver’s license required
