Role Summary
The Supervisor of Solvent Recovery Operations is directly responsible for managing the operations for their respective area and shift, including solvent recovery systems, associated supply and waste tanks, and air emissions systems. The role involves supervising operators to safely and compliantly support GMP manufacturing operations, ensuring staffing, equipment maintenance, and processes remain in a validated state.
Responsibilities- Build and promote a strong Safety and Quality culture; maintain a safe environment and conduct operations to protect safety, environment, and quality.
- Ensure operations remain compliant with all regulatory requirements at all times.
- Ensure solvent recovery areas support the execution of the production plan for the site.
- Maintain on-shift operational consistency through active floor engagement.
- Complete audit action items assigned to operations in a timely manner.
- Enter Trackwise/Veeva events; participate in and lead CAPA investigations.
- Set objectives and development plans for operators; address employee relations issues on shift and escalate as needed.
- Manage events, ensuring appropriate communication within the team and with external teams; provide input to investigations.
- Build and develop a team with clear purpose and strong team spirit.
- Ensure operators are trained and that SOPs and training materials are current and accessible.
- Communicate site objectives and team business to operators.
- Ensure the team is adequately resourced to meet objectives, managing overtime as necessary.
- During startup phases, collaborate to build capability, implement systems/processes, and support lean operational excellence.
- Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent - Required:
Legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship anticipated - Required:
Completion of Post Offer Exam or Work Simulation if applicable - Required:
Demonstrated leadership experience - Required:
Minimum 5 years of previous experience in chemical/manufacturing operations - Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in science, engineering, or technical field - Preferred:
Previous experience in facility/area start-up environments - Preferred:
Previous experience in distillation unit operations or similar unit operations - Preferred:
Skills in providing/receiving feedback and creating employee development plans - Preferred:
Basic computer skills (desktop software) are required - Preferred:
Solid understanding of FDA guidelines and cGMP requirements - Preferred:
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple requests - Preferred:
Strong technical aptitude and ability to train and mentor others - Preferred:
Ability to work with a team, make independent decisions, and influence diverse groups - Preferred:
Ability to instill teamwork within the shift and demonstrate key interpersonal skills

- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Possible short-term assignments (6–12 months) in Indianapolis or 1–3 months domestically/internationally to train and certify on processes; potential short travel (
