Role Summary

The RAC Mechanic Refrigeration/AC – Engineering role supports the startup and ongoing operation of the Lebanon Advanced Therapy Manufacturing Site by ensuring HVAC systems and related equipment are maintained, calibrated, and compliant with cGMP standards. The technician focuses on equipment uptime, reliability, and the able handling of both clinical and commercial supply needs. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and may require shift coverage and off-hour support.

• Servicing, troubleshooting and maintaining multiple HVAC equipment systems such as chillers, boilers, air balancing, hoods, HEPA filters, air handlers
• Engage and own site HVAC program
• Display good documentation practices
• Installation and maintenance of new and existing equipment
• Pre-Startup and Startup Phase: support safety-first, quality-oriented maintenance; respond to changing priorities; collaborate with Global Facility Delivery; follow maintenance procedures (LOTO, JHA, CMMS); review CMMS data and manage data changes
• Support commissioning and qualification activities including initial equipment startups, shakedowns, verification, and equipment qualification
• Use Workday for time entry and personal information; manage objectives and development via PM
• Observe and work with vendors on initial equipment startups; perform preventive and corrective maintenance on basic heating and cooling systems
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems to minimize downtime; read P& and schematics; maintain GMP documentation
• Post Startup: install and repair basic and complex heating and cooling systems; balance air flow in handling systems; maintain process and comfort chiller systems
• Inspect, validate and repair HEPA filters; manage CFC recovery and records
• Support communications across operations shifts, maintenance, engineering, automation, and site customers
• Identify and implement human error prevention opportunities; use CMMS and closing notes; use Microsoft Office tools

  High School diploma or GED
• Required:
  
  Associate degree (or equivalent work experience)
• Preferred: 5 years journeyman-level HVAC experience in a heavy industrial environment
• Preferred:
  Associate's degree in HVAC maintenance or equivalent experience
• Required:
  
  Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting HVAC/RAC equipment failures; ability to work with CMMS, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
• Preferred:
  Experience in regulated/FDA-regulated industries; strong customer service and documentation practices

  Ability to follow written procedures; ability to work in a team environment; strong housekeeping and safety record

  One year of process experience; knowledge of process-related equipment failures

• US travel requirements are 5% or less
• Supports a flexible 24/7 schedule; willingness to support off-hour emergencies
• Aseptic gowning required; building gowning and SOP compliance
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
