Our client, a leading organization in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, is seeking a Hazardous Waste Specialist to join their team. As a Hazardous Waste Specialist, you will be part of the Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) department supporting waste management and environmental compliance initiatives.
Job Title: Hazardous Waste Specialist | 6 months contract
Location: Lebanon, Indiana | onsite role
Pay Range: $30-$35/HR
What’s the Job?- Oversee the generation, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of hazardous waste activities, including manifests, and regulatory submissions as required by RCRA.
- Lead initiatives to reduce the generation of hazardous waste through process optimization, material substitution, and recycling programs.
- Support the project team to deliver the facility as a key stakeholder providing input and feedback on environmental-related design decisions, construction, and startup plans.
- Manage roll out of environmental programs, procedures, tools, and overall management systems, including training, mentoring, and onboarding of new staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field of study.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing.
- Experience applying environmental regulations and developing environmental programs.
- Experience interfacing with HSE-related regulatory agencies.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
