What We Are Looking For

Next Care Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Medical Assistant that thrives in a fast‑paced setting and works in a team environment. We seek customer‑friendly and passionate employees to be part of our growing organization where patients and employees are our top priority.

Responsibilities
  • Assist provider with exams (including patient vitals), procedures and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision and within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant.
  • Administer all forms of medications per policy and provider direction and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures for medication administration.
  • Perform blood draws as directed by the provider.
  • Collect urine for various testing, including employer drug screens.
  • Perform splinting and casting.
  • Conduct various types of physicals such as sports physicals.
  • Perform duties such as ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration specific to urgent care.
  • Notify the provider on duty promptly of all unusual patient occurrences, including medication events, on an incident report.
  • Promptly notify the clinic manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
  • Follow guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
  • Be proficient in EMR/EHR.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or described by company policy.

As a Medical Assistant, you may also be asked to support Front Office Reception. When working in the front office you will keep patients and families informed of wait times, monitor patient flow, process patients for discharge, prepare charges, collect payment, obtain necessary signatures, and issue receipts.

The Medical Assistant supports the organization with customer service and provides patient care services, ensuring that the clinic and front reception area run smoothly and that patient flow is optimized while treating all patients with respect and dignity.

Essential Education, Experience and Skills

Education:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
  • OR Completed an UNAPPROVED (non‑accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND earned a National Certification through one of the following:
    American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), or National Health career Association (CCMA).
  • OR Completed an UNAPPROVED training program AND was employed as a medical assistant for one (1) year or more after completion OR has verifiable work experience directly supervised by a provider or physician group for a minimum of 2,000 hours or 1 year.

Other MA education or experience may be considered upon review and approval from the Compliance and Regulatory Department.
