Project Profile
The CMOP program provides prescription mailings for veterans and other patients. Services being sought will assist CMOP’s mission by preparing prescriptions and packages in an accurate, timely, and cost-effective manner without disruption in services or production.
Responsibilities- Support engagement with The Veterans Affairs Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) as a key member of the facility leadership team.
- Provide pharmaceutical verification of prescription orders including legend, OTC, Med/Surg, and controlled substances to patients requiring care.
- Provide patient consultation, quality improvement, and supply control duties.
- Direct the delivery of pharmacy services, ensure efficient and effective drug distribution, and educate to improve patient quality of life, minimize therapeutic risk, and enhance clinical outcomes.
- Lead pharmacy management to deliver patient care quality metrics, evaluate the performance of Pharmacy Technicians, and drive client satisfaction outcomes.
- Fulfill duties at the CMOP facility located at 5000 S 13th St, Leavenworth, KS 66048, as part of a Contract Contingent position.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree recognized by ACPE or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Licensure: Current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in Kansas or an active license from another state with reciprocity with Kansas. Must have passed NAPLEX and MPJE.
Experience:
- Proficiency in compounding prescriptions, drugs, and pharmaceutical supplies used in a pharmacy operation.
- Dispense medications prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners; provide information to health practitioners and patients about proper usage and side effects.
- Conduct drug utilization reviews; counsel patients on proper use and evaluate outcomes using adherence best practices.
- Apply state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to pharmacy operations and compliance.
- Provide oversight of CMOP facility by developing/implementing operational procedures; maintain records and protect confidentiality of medical records.
- Apply inventory control procedures for storage and preservation of medications.
- Communicate effectively with medical professionals and patients; build professional relationships with clinic staff.
- Supervise Pharmacy Technicians in sterile products, prescription filling, and ward/clinic supply.
