This position is located at Munson Army Health Center, Fort Leavenworth, KS.

Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive primary and preventive outpatient care to patients of all ages, managing a wide range of complex, acute, and chronic health conditions.
  • Perform various in-office procedures, including minor surgeries, and conduct specialized medical evaluations for active duty, civilian, and other beneficiaries.
  • Serve as the clinical and administrative leader for the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team, guiding personnel and managing patient care activities to ensure high-quality, cost-effective healthcare.
  • Act as a clinical preceptor and mentor for other professional providers, and actively participate in continuing education programs, peer reviews, and hospital committees.
  • Participate in disaster preparedness training and respond to real-world disaster situations to deliver primary care as part of the assigned medical contingency response plan.

Basic Requirements for Physician (Family Practice):

Degree:
Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association;
Association of American Medical Colleges;
Liaison Committee on Medical Education;
Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Foreign Degree: A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must have provided education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States.
