Veterans Health Administration (Eastern Kansas Healthcare System) is actively seeking an excellent Emergency Medicine Chief physician to join our established program in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Position Highlights- High‑complexity VA Medical Center with Surgery, Radiology, Cardiology and Mental Health services in house.
- Access to Clinical Pharmacists onsite and bedside ultrasound available.
- High‑performing, high‑quality, patient‑focused team.
- Opportunity for teaching and academic appointment.
- Approximate volume: 41,500 annual visits from Veterans utilizing their earned benefits.
- Monday‑Friday shift.
- No employment contracts or significant outside work restrictions.
- Located in vibrant and affordable Leavenworth, Kansas.
- MD or DO degree.
- Completion of ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine residency.
- BC American Board of Emergency Medicine.
- Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.

- Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. - Paid Time Off: 50–55 days (8‑hour shifts estimated) of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays per year and possible up to 5 days paid absence for CME; opportunity for paid parental leave).
- Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401(k) with up to 5% in contributions by VA. - Insurance:
Federal health/vision/dental/term life (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). - CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full‑time with board certification). - Malpractice:
