Marine Designer - Contract (6 Months)

Surrey | £52 per hour | Outside IR35 | Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days remote)

RHL Recruitment, working with a leading oil and gas EPC contractor, who are seeking two experienced Senior Marine Designers to join a high-profile offshore project, on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a dynamic Marine Team, supporting the delivery of complex offshore design scopes while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across global offices.

The Role

As a Marine Designer, you will:

Support and lead within the Marine Team

Liaise closely with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors

Coordinate with global project teams to deliver work within agreed timelines and budgets

Provide technical guidance and mentor Junior designers

Manage and oversee remote design teams

Develop project-specific job notes, guides, and training materials to ensure consistent deliverable's

Organise team schedules and allocate resources to meet project milestones

Break down project scopes to drawing level and estimate resource requirements

Work effectively in a hybrid office based environment

Requirements

Marine & Structural Designer with formal qualification and/or significant on-the-job training

Minimum 10 years' experience in marine design

Strong proficiency in Aveva Marine

Demonstrable leadership experience managing remote teams

Ability to prioritise workload and respond effectively to urgent issues

Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Comfortable working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Willing and able to work 3 days per week in the Surrey office

Contract Details

Rate: £52 per hour
