Summer Swim Coach

Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and positive swim coach with experience coaching swimmers ages 4–17 of all skill levels. Passionate about teaching stroke fundamentals and technique while keeping practices fun, engaging and well-structured. A strong team player who works collaboratively with a coaching staff to plan practices, support swimmers and build team spirit. Committed to creating a safe, encouraging environment where swimmers grow in confidence, skills and love for the sport — all while making summer swim memories.

• Coach swimmers ages 4–17, supporting all ability levels from beginners to advanced
• Plan and lead safe, fun and effective practices that balance skill development and team spirit
• Provide clear, positive instruction and feedback to help swimmers improve and build confidence
• Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents and coaching staff
• Work collaboratively with a team of coaches to support overall team goals
• Serve as a positive role model and leader, encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship and personal achievement
• Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing proper behavior management techniques and reinforcing safety protocols.

• Must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certificate or equivalent certification from a recognized aquatic safety organization, which includes training in:
  • American Red Cross Adult, Infant, and Child CPR (or equivalent)
  • American Red Cross Community First Aid (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of competitive swimming, including all four strokes and basic technique
• Ability to clearly explain skills, drills and expectations to swimmers of all ages
• Willing and able to learn new skills and coaching methods
• Strong communication skills with swimmers, parents and coaching staff
• Proven ability to lead by example and serve as a positive role model
• Encouraging, patient and enthusiastic attitude
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team
• Understanding of Safe Sport requirements and commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive environment
