Low Voltage Technician – Prism Electric
Responsibilities- Safety is our number one priority. Follow safe work practices and company and client work site policies.
- Assist the project team with installation activities including OSP, ISP, rack, stack, patch, pathways, labeling, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Use basic hand and power tools to perform assigned job site tasks.
- Proactively maintain job site organization and basic housekeeping. Organize materials, tools, and equipment, collect debris, and address hazardous conditions promptly.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
- Learn about materials and methodologies involved in the installation of a structured cabling system (Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6e, Cat7, and Fiber Optics).
- Maintain satisfactory compliance with customer security requirements.
- High School Diploma or commensurate experience
- Must be able to pass drug and background screens
- Dependent vehicle for transportation to and from work
The job requires working in all elements, depending on location, time of year, heat, cold, and rain. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses) and respirator when required. Ability to work 8–10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime as required and night shifts. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, lifting heavy objects (more than 50 pounds), and pushing/pulling of objects.
