We are thrilled to announce that
B. Robinson LLC is now part of our organization, Grid Source! We are actively looking for Fiber Technicians in the Austin, TX area.
As a Fiber Tech, you play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. You are responsible for various tasks, including building, prepping, and splicing fiber. Additionally, you’re responsible for interpreting construction drawings and understanding design prints/maps, fiber optic splice schematics and work orders.
This is an Hourly Non‑Exempt position that reports to the Fiber Splicing Manager or Construction Manager depending on the area assigned.
What you’ll have- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- Responsible for turning in deliverables and production reports on a daily basis.
- Must set up and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to proper personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Punctuality; arrive at work on time every day limiting unexcused absences.
- Responsible for maintaining, cleaning and organizing work area, truck, equipment, tools and office location.
- Excellent teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers, vendors and customers.
- Time management skills are crucial to ensure efficient use of working hours.
- Timely completion of required documentation.
- Communication skills: effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and communicate technical information clearly.
- Ensure all work meets customer standards for quality, timeliness, and proper documentation.
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with customers and coworkers; always represent the company in a professional manner.
- Present a clean, professional appearance and uphold the company’s image in all interactions.
- Safeguard company assets, including vehicles, tools and materials at job sites and company locations.
- Follow all company, area‑specific, and customer project rules and procedures.
- Ensure personal workmanship meets company and customer standards; conduct yourself professionally at all times.
- Adhere to all company safety rules, OSHA regulations and NESC standards.
- Submit all required paperwork accurately and on time, including daily job reports, timesheets, purchase and fuel receipts, project photos and as‑builts, splice counts and completion details for invoicing, perform regular maintenance and inspections, report issues promptly, keep tools/test gear clean, functional and secure, participate in scheduled on‑call rotations (24/7 availability during assigned times) and work flexible hours to meet project and team needs.
