Pool Manager - seasonal

The Pool Manager ensures a safe and welcoming environment and experience for pool guests in our two aquatics facilities. The Pool Manager will oversee and maintain the adherence of safety protocols, daily operation of aquatics facilities, training and leadership of aquatics team members, and maintenance of pools and aquatics areas. Must demonstrate clear and effective communication, leadership, and accountability with a high focus on safety.

Duties include completing routine documentation, orderly aquatic facility operation in accordance with the American Red Cross and state and local guidelines, training new associates, ensuring cleanliness standards are exceeded, and demonstrating effective leadership skills to foster a positive team. Duties include other related tasks as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position requiring the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background investigation and will be subject to random drug testing.

* Oversee the daily operations of aquatics facilities, ensuring lifeguards maintain vigilance and preparedness. Manage lifeguard rotations and break schedules, respond appropriately to guest and associate inquiries, and ensure cleanliness standards are exceeded. Conduct audits and skill tests for lifeguards, perform routine maintenance, and address any maintenance or safety concerns.

* Perform opening and closing duties following established cleanliness and safety protocols.

* Provide effective leadership to the aquatics team by ensuring clear communication, strong knowledge, preparedness, and offering mentorship and guidance.

* Attend and assist with conducting departmental training, in-service training, and aquatics meetings.

* Assist in creating lifeguard schedules and completing payroll functions.

* Perform regular evaluations of aquatics personnel.

* Document, coach, and address discrepancies or misconduct, and communicate these issues to the Parks Recreation Superintendent.

* Perform cash control duties, uphold cleanliness standards, and respond to inquiries at the pool concession stands.

* Ensure knowledge of the location and proper use of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety supplies.

* Handle first aid situations as needed.

* All other related job duties as assigned by the Parks Recreation Superintendent.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Must be at least 18 (eighteen) years old.

* Minimum 3 years of experience in aquatics operations; minimum 1 year of aquatics leadership experience.

* Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certificate or be able to complete certification course upon hire.

* Must have current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certificate or be able to complete certification course upon hire.

* Current CPO Certification preferred, but not required.

* Ability to maintain levels of preparedness and performance levels.

* Must have high regard to safety, demonstrating and promoting safe practices internally and through pool guests.

* Must demonstrate positive and outgoing communication between team members and guests.

* Must be able to effectively lead teams of individuals and provide oversight and control of aquatic operations and environments.

* Perform related duties as assigned.
