Store Sales Representative – The Hillman Group

Territory consists of 24 stores in Houston, League City, and Spring, TX. The position is hourly, averaging 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule. Compensation starts at $18 per hour, with a car allowance and corporate gas card for business miles.

Summary

Provides merchandising services and on‑site customer support at customer locations to ensure that prescribed regular service programs and customer relationships are effectively maintained at or above customer expectations.

Responsibilities Merchandising and Customer Support
  • Travel to and among customer store locations as required according to service schedule and to resolve issues.
  • Maintain customer stores by ensuring displays are set to plan‑ograms, assessing inventory levels, placing customer orders, down‑stocking product, removing defective product, placing POP material, and repairing displays and equipment.
Store Display Resets
  • Perform physical work necessary to tear down and/or assemble store displays, including racks and other prescribed display items according to the plan‑ograms.
  • May provide direction and supervision to temporary or support personnel assigned to assist with the reset.
Conduct Store Surveys
  • Complete customer service sheets and surveys as directed.
  • Takes photos of displays.
Follow Company Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain and timely submit required records and receipts.
  • Follow prescribed time reporting procedures and submit time worked accurately and promptly.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent; college courses preferred.

Qualifications
  • Two years of field service or merchandising experience preferred, ideally in a large‑scale retail environment.
  • Able to read and execute store plan‑ograms efficiently and use Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Able to travel regularly to and among store locations, with occasional overnight stays as required.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driver record under Hillman’s Vehicle Policy.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Able to read and execute store plan‑ograms efficiently.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and deal tactfully with the public.
  • Able to travel regularly to and among store locations, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driver record under Hillman’s Vehicle Policy.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Sales/Service environment varies by location/store setup. Workers may be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors. Daily travel required, potentially up to 200 miles. Hand/eye coordination and functional vision and hearing are required.

Packaging – Key Light‑Medium, lifting up to 50 lbs.
